Absolutely right. Ensuring the 2026 midterms are fair and successful is the most urgent task we face. Democrats must retake the House and Senate—not just for policy, but for the survival of democracy itself.

Read this article for some great ideas on how you can participate in saving our democracy. There’s a clear, actionable list of things we can all do to make this the most important and meaningful work of our lifetime.

"Stop worrying about who the Democratic presidential candidates may be in 2028. First, we have to get past 2026."

Yes. I am astounded at the internecine warfare over the nature of the Democratic Party. This is the perfect example of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't care if my district's candidate is Alice Cooper; I'm voting for him. Or her. Republicans OUT!

And regarding "primarying incumbents," this is clearly the time to ask Democratic office-holders to answer this question: Are the "Republicans" trying to destroy American democracy or not? The only acceptable answer is "Yes! ... Duh!" I am constantly surprised at the politicians who are clinging to one version or another of what the Democratic Party's "focus" should be going forward. First we get rid of the rats and the termites, then we decide where to put the new kitchen.

You’re not a swing voter, that’s why it matters— try again.

Also I agree with everything she wrote except, in fact, there was no ceasefire accomplished by Biden or Harris and they lied to us too— Trump just continued the genocide because he’s even more beholden to Israel naturally and is a fascist who lies the most.

Mostly, except for the denial that they also lied on a ceasefire and that, in fact, if Dems field a stupid choice in 2028 (as is currently present on the list) we will lose Democracy for good to a Trump dictatorship- I mostly agree with her.

Anyone honest and decent who watched Trump's "press conference" with Canada's new PM today would have to conclude that the man should be removed from office immediately and probably hospitalized.

Biden was also sick during the debate. When I wrote about this nearly a year ago on my Substack, I received numerous comments insulting my perspective and me. I am glad I am not the only one who noticed this.

One of Trump's biographers said Useful Idiot Krasnov has always worried about dementia because it affected his father who then developed Alzheimer's. His nephew said dementia and Alzheimer's runs in their family. We are definitely seeing it affecting Useful Idiot Krasnov now.

As a retired teacher, I had several students who were stutterers. It is so hard to overcome, and the person is constantly working hard to speak without a stutter. (James Earl Jones was a stutterer!)

Anyway, a father brought his 10-year-old son to see Joe at an event because the son was having trouble dealing with his stuttering. Joe stopped what he was doing, talked directly to the boy and encouraged him, and then told his aide to give his personal cell number to the father so the son could call him anytime.

Trump would never…
