As for Detroit's historically poor showing at the polls, the biggest challenge is getting Detroiters to understand how this will affect them directly. Which, in a way, is the challenge for getting the national turnout we need in 2024. In Detroit's case, because so much of the population - close to 1/3 - is struggling, it's a daily fight to keep their heads above water. Some don't feel it can get much worse than it already is, and doubt it will ever get better because it never has. Changing that mindset will be a heavy lift. Thanks for your comment!
