Critical Race Theory (CRT) is actually a PhD-level or law school-level course designed in the 1980s that studies the theory that laws have been passed and implemented since the beginning of the United States that deliberately helped people to discriminate against non-white, non-Christian, non-straight people in all areas of American life. CRT has NEVER been taught even as a Master’s-level or undergraduate-level course, much less in K-12 classrooms.
Now recently CRT has been co-opted to mean the teaching of ANYTHING race-related or about Black History or the history of any other group besides white Americans.
What are YOUR thoughts about CRT? Do you understand what it actually is? Do you think that the movement to “ban CRT” at all levels is right or wrong? Why or why not?
