They could never erase us! They Hate us coz they ain’t us!!! Everything we’ve ever done they mimicked except what’s going on in Washington right now! Racist Asswipes!!!
Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" was awesome! Seen it 3 times (twice in IMAX) and it's just the type of film that inspired, celebrated, REJOICED the black creatives in film and the fandom/culture, but also PISSED OFF the current 'Rump Regime's blatant Jim Crow 2.0 actions of the last 100 Days as we fight back 'Rump's Project 2025 Christian White Nationalist takeover plan. Just a fantastic layered work in a genre horror film, about family bonds, finding your own version of faith, fighting oppression while being aware of assimilation (via both fear and religion), the history of American Slavery & American Immigration, and celebrating all the generations of black music has brought to the world.
We needed this now, just like Jordan Peele's fantastic "Get Out" in 2016 right before Rump's 1st attempt to be the First American Dick-tator.
My hubby saw it on the all-important first weekend, and at first I didn’t want to see it because I don’t like horror and violence. But I am so glad I did, and I can’t wait to see it again.
Unfortunately, for now, there is no IMAX near me that is showing the movie, but if/when it comes to an IMAX near me, I’ll be there.
Even though I had to close my eyes during some violent parts (LOL), it was still one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The layers…the history…the cultural correctness…
