Who are Keith and Pamela Owens?
Keith Owens is a native of Denver, Colorado, and is an award-winning journalist who has worked as a columnist and editorial writer for the Detroit Free Press, as an editor of Michigan’s oldest Black newspaper, the Michigan Chronicle, and as a bi-weekly columnist for Detroit’s alternative newsweekly, the Metro Times. He is also a local musician, a published author of several fiction books, the founder of a Detroit-focused futuristic quarterly magazine, Detroit Stories Quarterly, and a cultural critic.
Pamela Hilliard Owens is a native of Detroit, Michigan, an educator, a solopreneur, a business coach for creative businesses in 14 countries, an online trainer, an award-winning public speaker, a former editor and publisher for self-published titles, a published author of nonfiction business books, and a creative business owner.
Keith and Pamela live in a large 109-year-old historic home with their little Shorkie, “Pepper.”
Keith and Pamela have been married since 1998 and business partners since 2007. They bring those experiences and expertise to the articles they publish in this newsletter.
Keith and Pamela have a beautiful blended family with six adult children and two grandchildren.
Keith and Pamela are proud liberal and progressive Democrats, but they also believe in (small “d”) democracy for all, especially through the 14th amendment, which SHOULD guarantee equal rights for ALL. They believe that the Constitution is the law of this land, not the Bible or any other religious book or religion.
Keith and Pamela write and broadcast in this publication to discuss their views of politics, American history, and American government from a Black American Liberal’s point of view and to separate these opinions from our career employment and other businesses.
