The History of the “We Are Speaking” Substack Publication
On January 28, 2022, we announced our new “We Are Speaking” Substack Publication.
On February 21, 2022, we announced that we were adding a weekly podcast to “We Are Speaking.”
Our goal then was to have 100 subscribers by June 1, 2022. We are now at 76 subscribers, and we are very happy with the progress of the publication so far.
We are launching a paid subscription model (mostly)!
So, as we planned from the beginning, even though we are only 75% of our goal of 100 free subscribers, we are transitioning “We Are Speaking” from a fully free publication to a partially paid publication.
Why Is This Important?
We started our Substack publication, and we named it “We Are Speaking” because we have a lot to say! Those of you who already know us, know that about us. Those of you who are getting to know us, are learning that we have a lot to say.
We publish articles 3-5 times a week and also publish a weekly podcast episode.
Our topics are American History and Culture, Government, and Education.
We also publish a weekly op-ed on current events.
As creative professionals, we strongly believe that all artists of all kinds should be paid for their work, and that includes us.
While we thoroughly enjoy our work on this publication, it does take a lot of work to research, write, and publish so much on a weekly basis.
For “We Are Speaking,” there will be four tiers of subscriptions:
Free: Free subscribers will always have access to the weekly Monday issue, the weekend podcast episodes, and the occasional public posts.
Monthly Subscribers: Monthly subscribers ($10.00/month) will have access to all current and previous issues and podcast episodes, to the occasional public posts, and will be able to view and comment on the Friday discussion questions.
Annual Subscribers: Annual subscribers ($100.00/year) will have access to all current and previous issues and podcast episodes, to the occasional public posts, and will be able to view and comment on the Friday discussion questions.
Founding Members: Founding Members subscribers ($250.00/year) will have access to all current and previous issues and podcast episodes, to the occasional public posts, and will be able to view and comment on the Friday discussion questions. Founding members will also receive free copies of our books and other special offers throughout the year.
