What’s wrong, Don-Old? You mad?
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day:
Many of you probably remember Judith Viorst's classic children's book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day," where young Alexander experiences a day where everything goes wrong. From waking up with gum in his hair to discovering that his brothers have nicer prizes in their cereal boxes, the day is a series of disappointments and frustrations for Alexander.
This book was one of my students’ favorites when I taught elementary school decades ago.
Well, Trump is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad WEEK, and I’m here for it!
Starting with comparing VP Harris’ choice for VP vs Trump’s…LOL! No comparison!
Trump's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week
His Legal Woes Intensified:
Multiple indictments and ongoing investigations into his business dealings further complicated his legal battles. New evidence came to light, potentially leading to more severe charges. He will not be allowed to use immunity to get out of the 34 felony counts from Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and his sentencing WILL commence on September 18.
His Key Allies Turned Against Him:
Prominent supporters, political allies, and former administration members continue to distance themselves publicly, signaling a loss of crucial support within his own party. Several new “Republicans for Harris”-type groups were activated.
A Lot of Negative Media Coverage:
Finally, some major news outlets released scathing reports and editorials, examining his past actions and current challenges in an unflattering light.
He tried to Promote Economic Setbacks for America:
Recent economic data revealed troubling trends, contradicting the positive economic narrative he had been promoting. Stock markets reacted negatively, causing widespread concern. Even when the stock market went way down on Monday, it came back up on Tuesday.
His Public Opinion Polls Dipped:
Polls showed a significant drop in public approval ratings, reflecting growing discontent among voters and increasing skepticism about his leadership.
His VP Pick Has the Most Negative Polling in History:
JD Vance has turned out to be so bad as a VP candidate that some Republicans are calling for his replacement.
Health Concerns Emerge:
Now Trump’s the “old guy” and his dementia and unhealthy demeanor are on display every single day.
Even His Base Is Getting Tired of Him:
Even though he won’t admit it, he not pulling in anywhere near the crowds he used to, and many of the attendees he does get start leaving early.
He’s Showing that he is a National Security Risk and a Traitor to Our Country
He still possesses classified documents that anyone can see and access.
He still promotes world dictators as his model and he wants to destroy the Constitution.
He's STILL Talking about the 2020 Election and Doubling Down on What Most Americans Do NOT want:
He went to Georgia and blasted its popular Republican governor and Secretary of State and called Atlanta a “killing field.” Even his supporters say he’s lost Georgia.
The policies of Trump and the Republicans are so unpopular that all Trump has is more lies and name-calling.
The relentless series of setbacks and challenges made it a particularly difficult week for Trump, and as we Dems rally united behind Harris-Walz 2024, things are going to get worse and worse for Trump.
What do YOU think was the worst thing to happen to Trump last week?
