Issue #206 Weekly Summary December 26, 2022
Happy Holidays!
When I was a child back in the last century (smile), we didn’t have “Christmas Sales” that started as early as “Christmas in July,” “Black Friday,” and other faux-Christmas sales before Christmas. Technically, the holiday shopping season didn’t even start until after Thanksgiving, and the only reason people would do their Christmas shopping early was if they had to send packages overseas, because of the early time needed for mailing.
My parents, who had four children to buy for, always made sure we had nice toys, etc., under the Christmas Tree, but all of those gifts were procured at regular prices.
Then, on December 26 until the last day of the year, all of the stores had “end-of-the-year sales” when they were trying to clear their inventory before January 1.
Our mother took us downtown the day after Christmas to take advantage of those sales and we cleaned up, especially on winter clothes and more toys! Then we went home and put those things right under the tree. December 26 was just as much fun as December 25 at our house!
So, remembering that tradition, this December 26, I want to invite you to save 17% over a monthly subscription with an annual subscription to “We Are Speaking” by clicking on the link below. To financially support us, you can also upgrade from a free to a paid subscription at the link.
