We all know by now that although Donald Trump prefers to be called “President Trump,” he has a new title: “Convicted Felon.” We also know that Convicted Felon Trump has always been a failed businessman since he blew the millions of dollars his father left him. We additionally know that Fred Trump and Donald Trump are racists who excluded Black people from renting their properties back in the 1970s.
Last but not least, we know how Convicted Felon Trump feels about women in general, and Black and educated women in power in particular.
It is also common knowledge that Convicted Felon Trump has managed to escape accountability for his criminal actions until just the last couple of years. Although Convicted Felon Trump managed to pay off the many lawsuits about his business activities he lost over the years, he has finally been found liable for sexual assault (rape) and business fraud in two New York civil trials, and now he has been found guilty of election interference in a New York criminal trial.
The guilty verdict on Thursday, May 30, 2024, was both a happy day for those who wanted Convicted Felon Trump to finally get his comeuppance and a sad day for America. Never before has a president or former president been indicted and then found guilty of crimes of any kind. Richard Nixon came close, but President Gerald Ford pardoned him instead.
Despite what Convicted Felon Trump and his Republican sycophants say, this was not a “political hit job” by either President Joe Biden or Attorney Merrick Garland and his Department of Justice. Nor was this an attempt to keep Convicted Felon Donald Trump from running for president for a third time.
Trump only declared himself a 2024 presidential candidate in November 2022, as the number of indictments grew, because he is trying to stay out of prison by ending the cases against him. Of course, as president, Trump could only pardon himself for the federal cases, not for the state or local cases.
The twice-impeached, twice popular vote loser former president was already found criminally liable for sexual assault (“rape”) and defamation against author and journalist E. Jean Carroll. Trump continued to defame Carroll and was hit with another defamation case, and will probably face another case as he continues to defame Ms. Carroll.
Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump has been charged in four different criminal cases in four different jurisdictions for a total of 88 indicted charges, and in three of those cases, a Black person is in charge.
A quick reminder that before a criminal case can be brought to court, a grand jury made up of regular voters in the jurisdiction is the body that also files the indictment. Not the district attorney, not the president, not the assigned judge, and not the Department of Justice.
New York elected Attorney General Letitia James, a Black woman, won her case against Trump and the Trump Organization for illegal and fraudulent business transactions that caused “harm” to the people of the State of New York. Trump had to post a multi-million-dollar bond to appeal this case, which will allow James to seize his properties and curtail his ability to do business in New York State. The appeal process is ongoing.
Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan is the U.S. district judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and is the presiding judge over the criminal trial of Trump over his alleged attempts to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election, including the events leading up to the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. Judge Chutkan is not only a Black woman, but she is also an immigrant from Jamaica. Judge Chutkan entered an air-tight ruling saying that Trump is not immune from prosecution, but Trump’s lawyers sent that ruling straight to the Supreme Court, which has yet to decide on that case.
Fulton County Georgia elected District Attorney Fani Willis is overseeing the criminal election interference case against Donald Trump and several others. Of course, a grand jury brought the indictment against Donald Trump, who had to go to the Fulton County jail building to be charged and have his mugshot taken. DA Willis won her seat overwhelmingly and recently won her primary election overwhelmingly for the November election. Because Trump cannot pardon himself for a local case, his people have tried to destroy DA Willis’ case, first by trying to make a personal relationship a part of the case, and now by having the Georgia Appeals Court schedule a hearing to remove DA Willis from the case for next October. This ensures that the case will not come to court before the November election.
Alvin Bragg, the first Black person elected to be the District Attorney for New York County, which includes Manhattan, oversaw the first successful criminal conviction of a former president. The case involved payment to a porn star with whom Trump had a sexual encounter in 2006, four months after his youngest son was born. After the “Access Hollywood” tape was released in August of 2016 that showed Trump gleefully saying he could grab women by the p*ssy, Trump was afraid that the porn star, “Stormy Daniels,” would also speak out, so he arranged to have his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, pay her off to keep her silence. Those payments alone were misdemeanors. What made the charges felonies (34 felonies in total) was that the payments were listed as “payments for legal services” instead of reimbursements for an incident that affected the outcome of the 2016 election. Election interference is a felony, and Trump was found criminally guilty of all thirty-four incidents covered in the case. Both the grand jury that brought the indictments and the case jury that convicted Trump were made up of regular voters in Manhattan.
In Florida, Special Counsel Jack Smith is prosecuting Convicted Felon Trump for stealing and hiding hundreds of confidential government documents as he left the White House. Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon, who is doing everything possible to delay the trial, is an immigrant from Colombia. Meanwhile, Trump and his supporters are doing everything they can to disparage Judge Juan Merchan who oversaw the Manhattan case and will also bring down Trump’s sentence on July 11, 2024. Judge Merchan is also an immigrant from Colombia.
Of course, two of Trump’s three wives are/were immigrants, and Trump himself and four of his five children are children of immigrants. (Trump’s mother was an immigrant from Scotland.)
Five of the judges on the Appellate Division First Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York that will hear Trump’s expected appeals after his sentence is imposed are Black women.
So the twice-impeached, two-time popular vote loser, adjudicated business fraud and rapist, and convicted felon Donald John Trump hates Black people, hates strong and educated women, and hates immigrants (until Black people, women, and immigrants can do something positive for him). He is having his life changed and his legal problems increased by Black people, women, and immigrants.
All of this is no one’s fault but his own. The results of Trump’s own illegal activities for decades are finally coming back to ruin him personally, professionally, and politically.
