As usual, "no experience" and "accused sexual predator" seem to be the desired qualifications.

Since Donald Trump barely won the last presidential election, he has started to name his Cabinet choices.
We must remember that:
He did not win a mandate. He received less than 50% of the popular vote and beat Vice President Kamala Harris by just over 1%.
At this time, his picks are just his choices. He cannot formally nominate anyone until after he is inaugurated. Then each nominee must have a Senate hearing and a positive vote by the Senate to start in the position.
Even though Trump is trying to push through his choices without Senate hearings or official votes with “recess appointments,” it is still unlikely that he will be able to do so.
The Senate currently has a 53-47 seat majority, and it takes 51 votes to approve a nominee. If just one Republican senator casts a “no” vote, the nominee will not be approved.
In the United States, the President's Cabinet consists of the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments.
For the next four The Choice posts, we'll discuss each of these choices and how we can work to derail most of the picks.
Secretary of State: Oversees international relations, negotiates treaties, and represents the U.S. at the United Nations.
Trump has chosen Florida Senator Marco Rubio for this position. Rubio is a Trump loyalist who seems to have forgotten how Trump denigrated him and his wife during the 2016 Republican primaries. Otherwise, Rubio doesn’t seem to have much, if any, international experience. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would appoint a replacement for Rubio. He could even appoint himself or his wife, Casey.
Secretary of Health and Human Services: Oversees public health, welfare, and health-related research.
Trump has chosen Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for this position. Kennedy is firmly anti-vaccines and masks and promises to end all mandated vaccines for children, adults, COVID-19, and so on. He has also vowed to gut the Centers for Disease Control and says we “shouldn’t listen to the scientists.”
Kennedy has also admitted to eating a bear cub, having “worms in his brain,” and using heroin to boost his performance while in school.
Attorney General: Heads the Department of Justice, oversees federal law enforcement, and acts as the chief legal advisor to the President.
Trump chose former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi after his initial pick of Matt Gaetz went down in flames. After Trump advanced her campaign millions of dollars, Bondi erased a major case against him.
Secretary of Defense: Oversees the military and advises on national defense policy and military operations.
Our current Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, achieved the rank of four-star general and had forty-one years of experience commanding troops at the corps, division, battalion, and brigade levels.
Trump’s choice for Secretary of Defense, Fox News Commentator Pete Hegseth, has had no military experience at all and has been credibly accused of many incidences of sexual assault and drunken appearances at various conferences. He has previously said, “Kill all Muslims!” He is totally unqualified for this position.
What Choice do we have?
We can and should flood the offices of the current and incoming senators, demanding that they do their constitutional job of “advise and consent” by holding hearings and then voting against the appointments of these choices.
