I'm honored to be recognized by my "Sister from Across the Pond"
I am so honored to be featured and promoted by one of my dear friends, the author and activist Sharon Hurley Hall.
This is how Sisters Support Sisters!
Several years ago I worked with Master’s Degree students and Ph.D. candidates worldwide as an academic editor for their theses and dissertations.
A lot of my student clients who attended university in the United Kingdom were from other countries and spoke English as a second language, which is one of the main reasons they hired me as their academic editor.
Of course, as many of you know, American English and British English are often very different. The supervisors of some of my student clients even asked them: “Is your editor an American?”
Because ensuring that their theses and dissertations were as perfect as possible was so important, I knew I needed help with some British English to American English “translation.”
I don’t remember how I found her, but my dear friend Sharon Hurley Hall was so helpful to me when I needed to write something in British English.
An accomplished writer, editor, activist, and author herself, she always found the time for me, no matter how many questions I had.
I have always been in awe of how prolific Sharon is!
Over the years, we have become friends and Sharon is now focused on her badly needed anti-racism work.
She speaks with an experienced voice and through the unique lens of someone who is Bahamian and British. She has also occasionally lived in the States.
