Happy 5th Anniversary, Detroit Stories Quarterly!
Fantasy-SciFi-Aufrofuturism with a Detroit Focus
Special Issue Keith’s SciFi Musings Sunday, March 17, 2024
Has it really been FIVE YEARS? Yes! Five years ago the three of us, Cornelius Fortune, Dr. Robert E. McTyre, and me, Keith Owens, founded Detroit Stories Quarterly (DSQ).
Detroit Stories Quarterly assembles science fiction, fantasy, horror, nonfiction, and experimental narratives based inside (and around) the Motor City. It celebrates history and future-history. The timeless journey of discovering and rediscovering. The beauty and the horror. The ecstasy and the pain. The spirit of Detroit.
So where are we headed you ask? We have no earthly idea. You see, the idea is to never actually get there. That way we can keep this journey going for as long as our collective imaginations will allow, and imagination is so much more powerful than reality. Because reality was born from imagination. So please do subscribe, and wherever we happen to be we will be sure to swing by and pick you up for the ride.
C'mon. Hop on board. Do you really have any place else to be? Let us be your guides.

As you walk the streets, stalk the clubs, bounce to the beats, or simply figure out new and interesting ways to improvise your existence within the confines of a re-imagined 'D', these are the questions that keep whispering, tapping you on the shoulder, scratching at the door of your other consciousness.
One of these days, you will have to answer. And when you do...
